Club StuffRichard Buck has been selected for the 4x400m relay for the Olympic Games. Unfortunately he was below par at the trials and didn't make the 400m final as he was still suffering from the virus that kept him out of the European Cup. Best of luck Richard !Open track & Field Meeting Our annual open track & field meeting is being held on Sunday 7th September at Huntington stadium. The entry form is now available. The dates are: Sunday 15th June, Saturday 5th July, Sunday 17th August and Sunday 14th September. Road/Trail: 1/7/08: Mens team win last Summer Road League finishing 2nd overall to Pocklington. Beck Penty 1st lady, sealing overall victory and leading the ladies team to 2nd overall. 22/6/08: Dawn Gibbs wins the British Masters 5k road Championship at Horwich. Andy Hilton 2nd in the road mile and 13th in the senior 5k, Mark Metcalf 29th in the 5k. Coming up:On Sunday 27th, juniot track and field team have their last (I think) league match at Manchester, while the James Herriot Trail race takes place at Castle Bolton and is a club target race. We will be aiming to retain the team trophy we won last year. Next Wednesday (30th July) the Yorkshire veterans monthly run comes to York with a 10k (approx) run over mixed terrain. Entry £2 on the night only at Hamilton Panthers on the Knavesmire. Start time 7.30. RED VESTS PLEASE !!Target Races:After the James Herriot Trail race on Sunday 27th July, the next target race (subject to confirmation) is the Escrick 10k trail race on Sunday 31st August. However, there are now spaces available for training on Friday evenings. Anyone wishing to join either group should email the club using the link below, though you can just turn up for the Friday evening sessions. Email us Club Presentation Evening 2007This happened at Next Generation Club on Friday 23rd November and was very well attended. The 3 main trophies were won by Paul Allsop (Gemini, for best T&F performance), Kieran Smith (Hetherton for best off track performance) and Becky Penty (Bleasedale for female distane runner of the year). As well as awards for athletes of the year and most improved athlete, there was a new category for club person of the year.
