Blain thrown out of Steeplechase

Yet another fantastic day for City of York AC athletes in the Young Athletes League meeting at Monkton Stadium Jarrow on Sunday 21st June. Athletes turned out in quality if not in quantity to win yet again by a large margin over Jarrow, Bingley and Boston. City of York Ac remain two points clear of Rotherham at the top of the League. Another win at Hull on the 19th July will see City of York return to the Northern Premier League after being relegated last season.
There were to many fantastic performances yesterday to name them all, however I am sure anyone who watched will never forget our u17 hammer thrower Sam Blain in the 1500m steeple chase somersault twice off the steeple into the water jump before being disqualified!!! Pictures to follow.
