City of York AC young athletes win the league

The City of York AC athletes win the National Young Athletes Northen East Division 2009, to gain promotion back to the Northern Premier league after a season in the lower division with a maximum 20 points from 5 meetings. The boys and girls whose ages range from 11 to 16 ran jumped and threw their hearts out to gain automatic promotion back to the Premier league after being demoted last season.
Girls team managers Drew Foster and Jess Foster and Boys team managers Ian Wilcock and Paula Bird are delighted with all the athletes and said "there were so many fantastic performances this year, we are all very proud of the athletes. Next year, however will be an even bigger challenge, when we are back competing with the big clubs again."
