Les Richards selected to throw for England at Senior International in Belgium on 7th June
City of York Athletic Club's Les Richards has been selected to throw for England at the Kessel-Lo, a Flanders Cup event to be held in Belgium on 7th June 2008. (For more information about the event visit www.englandathletics.org/teams)
This will be the first senior International for Les, aged 23, as he has previously competed for Great Britain at U20 and U23 level. Les has been selected for the Shot Putt, in which his personal best stands at 17.21m which he achieved during the winter.
Les, who is known as a gentle giant, stands at 6ft6 and weighs 21stone and is hoping to go to Beijing for the Discus which he has thrown in excess of 56 metres.
