England Indoor Junior Championships
Silver lining for York’s golden shot putters.
City of York AC had 3 athletes competing at the England Indoor Junior Championships held in Birmingham on 15th February 2009. 
Northern champions in the shot putt Becky Tunnicliffe and Scott Lincoln were competing against the best in the UK and both did very well.
Becky who is doing shot for fun over the winter won the silver medal with a throw of 11.11metres, not bad for a javelin thrower. Scott Lincoln who has only been putting the shot for 6 months also won a silver medal with a throw of 13.96m. They both were close to their personal bests and came away with much deserved medals.
James Buck who won bronze at the Northern Championships made the final of the 400m where he finished 5th in a new personal best of 50.66seconds.
The City of York AC athletes will now turn their attentions to the outdoor season starting soon.
